Interesting story about a Shan woman fighting for freedom in Burma. You see a lot of Shan and Burmese influence in northern Thailand, which is why this story resonates with me.

Pattaya's beaches are disappearing at a rate of 2 meters per year, despite dikes and other preventative measures. I guess it's a good thing the beaches aren't Pattaya's main draw….
